Flood Damage Repair: Does it matter if I hire a certified firm?

Posted by Kim Jones on Wed, Jan 23, 2013

When you have flood damage to your home or business and you are looking at flood cleanup and repair, you most likely are going to need to hire a company to assist. In many cases the damage will be covered by your insurance, but filing a claim to recover the cost of the damage means it's important to follow correct cleanup procedures.

The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, Restoration and Certification sets the high standards we follow in our field. There is no better recommendation of reliable technicians anywhere in the world than from this organization. This professional trade association touches on just about all aspects of our business and we are proud to have earned certification.

We are also accredited by the Better Business Bureau. We are a proud, member of the BBB, a non-profit consumer advocate for nearly a century in North America. This is an objective organization and we value their accreditation. See Clean Earth's BBB score.

We hold our Contractor's License. There are companies in town who offer flood, fire, mold and water damage cleanup services who do not hold a contractor's license. According to the law, any company handling a job over $500 must hold a current contractor's license. This protects the consumer and assures our clients that we are adhering to industry standards. Our Contractor's License number is #CSL #838134 B,D.

We hold other important certifications, including to ABRA, the American Bio Recovery Association, which certifies us for bio recovery, trauma and crime scene cleanup services. We are members of the Environmental Solutions Association, The San Diego  Regional Chamber of Commerce,  the San Diego County Apartment Association, Commericial Real Estate Women of San Diego,  the San Diego Insurance Adjustors Association, and the Community Associations Institute.

Having a flood, fire, or mold problem in your home or business is frustrating, time consuming and expensive. You want to know you have a company behind you that you can trust -- and that is trained to get the job done right. So bottom line -- does it matter is we are certifed. We think it does.
